MARCH stands for Mutual Alliance Restoring Hope. The foundation was founded in 1998 by Ken Jarvis, to support the education of African American youth through grants and scholarships to organizations, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The impact is reflected in more than 2,000 students nationwide who have benefited from MARCH support while navigating their education and careers.
Ken Jarvis joined UPS in 1957. Recognized as the company’s first African American package car driver, he rose through the ranks, retiring after 37 years as Vice President of Human Resources. Upon retiring, Ken created the MARCH Foundation and invited other retired UPS leaders to join him in support of the education of African American youth with grants and scholarships to organizations nationwide.
