MARCH Foundation Visits Tennessee State University

The MARCH Foundation Board recently had the opportunity to visit Tennessee State University in Nashville — an experience that was both inspiring and enlightening.
During our visit, Board members toured the campus, connected with students, and engaged with university leadership to gain a deeper understanding of TSU’s current goals, opportunities, and challenges.
We gleaned inspiration from U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Chandra Cheesborough, who returned to TSU Director of men’s and women’s track and field. Plus Dean Barbara Murrell Chair and Founding Administrator of the TSU Dr. Levi Watkins, Jr. Institute shared key insights, past and present.
Most importantly, we were reminded of the tremendous impact Historically Black Colleges and Universities have on students, communities, and generations to come. Hearing directly from students and learning more about the university’s vision reinforced the importance of continued investment, advocacy, and meaningful partnerships.
The MARCH Foundation including alumni board members Dennis Obregon, James T. Harris, Esq. and Gary Mays is proud to learn, listen, and explore ways we can help support the continued success and growth of HBCUs like Tennessee State University.
