Thomas began his UPS career in Athens, GA as a package car driver in 1986. He retired from UPS as a Managing Director of Sales after 35 years of service. Thomas was promoted to full time supervision in 1990 as an Account Executive. During his career, Thomas relocated and held positions in seven different districts which included various positions within the Business Development function.

Thomas’ leadership experience has allowed him to hold the positions of Director of Sales in the South Illinois, Empire State, and the Metro Philadelphia District’s. He was promoted to Managing Director of Sales in the Chesapeake District and later relocated to the Florida District as the Managing Director of Sales. His final assignment was the role as Corporate Enterprise Managing Director of Sales for Industrial Products until his retirement in March 2021.

Thomas was an active participant in the UPS Beep Program. He was in the first class of Executive Perspective at Emory University and attended the Community Internship Program in Lower East Manhattan, NY working with Henry Street Settlement.

In addition, Thomas served on several boards such as the Liberty USO Board of Philadelphia, The Walnut Street Theater Board, Philadelphia. He was active in the Philadelphia community supporting the American Diabetes Association where he was recognized as a 2009 Father of the Year. Upon his arrival to the Florida District, he served on the Central Florida Junior Achievement Board.

Thomas is a 1985 graduate of HBCU Fort Valley State University. During his time at Fort Valley State, he was commissioned into the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant Infantry Officer. Thomas continued to serve for sixteen years in the United States Army Reserves.

He is a Deacon at the Hope Church of Orlando. Finally, he is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Thomas and his wife LaWanda reside in Windmere, FL and have two adult daughters, Tatiana and Tia. He enjoys playing golf and family time.
